Boy or Girl?

We're going to be finding out the gender of #2 in the next few weeks. Before then I thought it would be fun to see what y'all think we're having.

1 - Chinese Gender Calendar- GIRL
According to my lunar age I was 24 and concieved in the 10th month.

2 - Even and Odd Test - GIRL

23,11

(odd, odd or even, even = girl .. odd,even = boy)
{this is hard because I, like most people, don't know an exact conception date}

3 - Ring Test - GIRL

But, with Kaidence it always moved in a straight line-which is the symbol for boy. Maybe I'm just backwards-ha!

4 - Old Wives Tale Test - BOY

5 - Cravings - BOY
I'm really into sour candy, icees, spicy food, and red meat.

6 - Heart Rate - BOY
157 BPM - All the online sources had anything over 160 is a girl. Close to 160, but not quite

So, we've got a 50% chance for a boy & 50% chance for a girl ;)

16 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along: 16 weeks

Size of Baby: According to BabyCenter.com he/she is the size of an avocado-4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces

Total Weight Gain/Loss: - 4 pounds.

Maternity Clothes: I can still wear regular pants, but shirts feel too short.

Gender: No clue. And, it's killing me to wait!!!!

Movement: I can feel fluttering.

Sleep: Great!

What I miss: Medium-rare steaks.

Cravings: Sour candy & orange juice.

Symptoms: Nothing new. Still some morning sickness, but not too bad.

Best Moment This Week: Hearing the heartbeat at my appointment today. 157 bpm!

12 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along: 12 weeks

Size of Baby: According to Baby Center the baby is about the size of a lime.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: - 8 pounds.

Not quite sure how that's possible since I had a burger two meals in a row this weekend. Ha! Oops ;)

Maternity Clothes: I can still wear regular, but who doesn't love comfy marternity clothes? I'm especially loving maternity pants & leggings.

Gender: No clue. And, it's killing me to wait!!!!

Movement: None that I can feel, but the baby is for sure a wiggle worm on the ultrasounds.

Sleep: Great!

What I miss: SUSHI!

Cravings: Sour candy & orange juice.

Symptoms: Nausea is still really bad. I sometimes get heartburn, but not too bad.

Best Moment This Week: Hearing Kaidence say the names we have picked out. She can't say the boy name and says Lemon instead! It's seriously SO precious!

First Positive At-Home - 11/18/2011

Due Date - 08/01/2012

How Far Along - I'm 10 weeks, but will be 11 weeks tomorrow.

Names - We have 100% decided on a boy name. If this baby is a girl, she may be named NoNa (No Name) because we cannot agree on a girl name.

Kaidence's thoughts - She is excited. She thinks she has a puppy in her belly! Ha! She even feeds it random snacks through her belly button. ;)

So far everything looks good. We had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and saw a heart beat. My second appointment was last Thursday, I was 10 weeks, 1 day. The baby is growing right on track and has a strong heartbeat!

Giving.

With the Christmas season in full swing, I want to make sure Kaidence knows the true meaning of Christmas.

Yes, we do Santa. He's not a major part, but she does get Santa gifts and visit Santa.

The one thing I wanted to start teaching her was selfless giving.

It's so easy to get in the routine of giving "just because" and I never want Kaidence to be like that.

I want her to enjoy sharing with others and showing love through giving.

Whether it's giving her time, talent, or a gift.

This year, my friend Becca had the idea of passing out goodies to a local nursing home.

We took both kids and they did wonderful!
It was such a delight to see how thankful the patients were. They were trully thankful that two kids brought them a gift.

I never want Kaidence to stop giving.

As part of our Christmas traditions, we're going to give to other's (outside of family) every year.

Today after dinner Kaidence was getting her PJs on for bed and someone rang our doorbell.

We weren't sure who it was, but when we opened this is who we saw..

Kaidence's very own Elf of the Shelf.

Not only did Santa send him, but a few suprises for her as well.

She was thrilled!
She kept saying "Oh, HOHO!!!"

When she got inside she realized that sneaky Elf had left her some treats inside, too.

Hot chocolote, marshmallows, candy canes, and powdered doughnuts.

Daddy read her a letter from her Elf and she thought it was so, so funny.

She got to pick his (her?) name.

At one point she liked Petey, but settled on Coco.

Coco the Elf.

She has been such a good girl since Coco got here.

If she does something bad she says "Ooopsie Coco" Ha!

I'm hoping someone invents a Character on the Shelf for every season/holiday!!

Trick-Or-Treat

This year our Halloween was super low-key. Josh had to work, so it was just us girls.

We started off our afternoon with taking some pictures in the yard.

It was going great, until she ran out of candy. Ha!

See this face? She uses it a lot to sneak her way out of trouble..

I snapped this picture right before we went to trick-or-treat.

We only made it to one house this year, but Kaidence was 100% okay with that. She loved handing out candy to all the others "kids", as she calls them. She wasn't too into the scary costumes though.

{side note: Today we went to the mall and there was an older woman dressed as a witch. She had on scary/nasty face paint and had a fake cane. Kaidence saw her and said "EW! She's uggy!!" Talk about wanting to run and hide!!! The lady just laughed it off, thankfully!!!}

Halloween Weekend

Friday -

We played around the house most of the day. Kaidence has become a pro at telling us what she doesn't like! Not cool. I hear "I don't yiiiiiiike it" more times than I can count these days.

That's another story for another day.

Friday afternoon we get dressed and headed to Aunt Peggy's house for a little Halloween Party. Kaidence had a blast! She got to help make cupcakes.

As you can see from the pictures she obviously believes in chef-tasting!

She also enjoyed a cupcake ... or 3!

Saturday -

We decided it was time to get a pumpkin. We'd already been to fall festivals, but they didn't have pumpkins for sale. We went to a local church, and they had tons of pumpkins spread out on the ground. Kaidence was in pumpkin heaven!

She loved this big, warty pumpkin! She tried to pick that big thing up-ha!

She kissed more than I can count. Which is disgusting, I know, but pick your battles!

Here she is loving on another warty one. I'm not sure why she's obsessed with warty pumpkins.

I've mentioned in several posts that she loves to sing. Well, here is the proof!

Anything that might possibly resemble a microphone gets used as one.

And then? She throws up her little hands and praises the Lord!

As we were picking out her pumpkin she said "cheese" and I turned around and saw her posing like this.

After the pumpkin patch we went to Target and Sonny's.

Sunday -

We planned to go to church, but over slept! So- we went grocery shopping instead.

Kaidence loves to check the mail everyday. Loves it!

Most days she gets upset because there is nothing for her.

That's why when Meredith from the tichenor family. blogged about Itty Bitty Pen Pals, I knew I had to sign Kaidence up!

-Monday morning we decided it was time to 100% potty train Kaidence. We woke up, put on big girl panties, and the rest is history. She has been in public twice and so far no accidents! She still sleeps in a pull-up, so we have to work on bed time PTing!

-Kaidence loves to paint. Loves it! I just hate the mess it makes. I need to find a good, kid friendly fingerpaint. Suggestions?

-We're going to a small Halloween party Friday night, and Kaidence is way too excited to be "Abby Cadabby"! She wants to try on her costume atleast once a day.

-My friend makes and sells these adorable hats, as well as all of K's custom bows. She is super talented and the best price that I've found for crocheted hats. If you want her info, let me know. I may share ;)

-I'm loving the Dukan diet. I started yesterday and weighed this morning. Lost weight, but don't want to jinx myself ;)

-I do have to say you have to be super creative on this diet. I'm cooking meats and eggs in ways I've never before. ha! My favorite way to cook eggs right now is with a lot of cilantro and fat-free cheese.

...That is all I can think of for now!

Your Last Meal.

Yesterday I talked to Josh about a me starting a diet. He thought it sounded like a good plan, so he decided he wants to do it, too. ~~Great, a man always loses faster than a woman.~~
As we talked about it, I told him what you could and could not eat. For the first week, only lean meats and proteins. Not too hard, but not too easy. In that exact moment we both started thinking about what our last meal would be.
Sushi? Steak? Mexican? Pasta?
We threw out several ideas, but finally decided to go with Five Guys. Big, greasy, non-lean burgers.

Even Kaidence enjoyed a "pony burger"

I can't say this would be my last meal I would chose if I was on death row and forced to do so. But- it was a great last meal before starting a diet.

Celebrating and The Fair

We went back to our hometown for a quick visit this weekend.

Saturday we celebrated my Granny Hardage's birthday.

Saturday night Josh & I had a "date", we went to a local Japenese restaurant. After that we met everyone at the fair.

It wasn't Kaidence's first time to go to the fair, but last year she was so little she didn't really get to do anything.

She loved it!

Playdate

Today, me and my sweet girl met some friends for a playdate at the Exploreum.

Kaidence loves going because there's so much to do.

Ball pit, fish, puzzles, and books.

She can run around inside a gated play area and burn a lot of energy! Winning!!

Another reason she likes going?

She's very fond of loving on them already!

She also enjoys going to put on a show.

She's a pro at doing her pageant face and working it for the camera.

I'm also a big fan of having a conversation with adults, so it works out good for me too! ;)

Weekend

We had a fun, relaxing weekend.
Friday I had to mail off some packages, so we decided to make a fun trip out of it and went to the park.

Kaidence loves playing and thinks picnics are the coolest thing ever.

She just isn't a fan of her daddy pushing her swing-ha!

Saturday I had a Scentsy party. My first! I wasn't expecting too many sales, but it's a big party. I'm excited!

Today we went to church. Kaidence wore the most adorable little dress and carried her SheSheMade backpack. But, before I could get a picture of her she got it dirty doing crafts!:(

October 15th.

{this post has details that everyone may not want to read. warning!}

I never thought too much about October 15th. It was just a normal day in October to me! When I started blogging I realized it was Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. And? Can I be honest for a minute? I always felt sorry for them and would pray for them .. but I never really understood or knew 100% how much I needed to pray for them. Until now.
I've never shared about our miscarriage on the blog. I have wanted to, I just couldn't find the words. This post is probably going to be wordy and random-I apologize now.

I think as soon as your firstborn turn 1 people start asking you if you're ready for #2. I wasn't then, but after I few months baby fever had struck again! We weren't trying to get pregnant, but God had other plans!
On February 25th, 2011 I woke up around 4:30 to take a test. I had been having a feeling for a while, and knew it was finally time to see if I was right.
I took the test .... POSITIVE! Oh.my.lanta!!!!!
Josh wasn't home from work yet, so I started freaking out.
Are we ready for this baby? Can we afford another baby? Will Josh be upset that I'm pregnant?
I was freaking out!
I met him outside and through the tears I told him we were pregnant and that I was sorry. Of course he wasn't upset and told me everything was going to be okay.
After a few hours I had calmed down, excepted that I was pregnant, and was beyond happy!
Two kids under two. Sounds crazy, but I'm excited!!

About a month passed. Everything seemed 100% normal. I was taking my vitamin, drinking tons of water, and watching what I ate just to be "safe".
I knew how to take care of myself and a baby. Hello-I just had one and had this under my belt!

On Sunday March 12th I woke up from an afternoon nap and had started bleeding. I couldn't stop crying. I knew something was wrong.
I made an appointment for the following Monday to see my new OB.

I got to the appointment, signed in, and did the urine test. Everything was going okay and I was keeping it together.
The nurse called me back to get information and I had to break the news why I was there. That's when I lost it! Tears flowing, I explained to her that I was bleeding. Not spotting, bleeding. My new OB heard me and came over to check on me.
He immediately sent me to get an ultrasound to check on things. I sat in the waiting room for what seemed like 8 hours.

I was finally called back. I got ready for the ultrasound. The nurse placed the cold, squishy gel on my belly and got her instrument all set up.
First shot I see the sweetest little peanut. I didn't think anything of it at first. Maybe he/she is just napping?
Next shot..nothing. She got a look that I could never explain. A look that I'm sure she has given too many women.
She said she was sorry, but she had to keep measuring just to get information for my OB. The baby measured at almost 6 weeks, even though I was almost 11 weeks.

That walk back to my OB's office? The.longest.ever.!!!
I was trying to hide by crying, but if you know me I'm the loudest person ever. I was bawling! How could this be happening to us? We're young! We're a Christian family! We'll actually take care of our baby!
Those things sound harsh, but they're just some of the thoughts that were in my head. I was devastated!

My OB called us into his personal office to talk to us. He explained what options we had and let me know it was nothing I did or nothing that I could have prevented. That made me feel somewhat better. But, how did he know? What if it was because I questioned it at first? Was God paying me back?*

We got in the car to come home and I lost it again.
Why? Why now? Why us?I'd already taught Kaidence that there was a baby in my tummy. I had already ordered her big sister shirt. I had already planned our announcement party.
Why did everything have to be ruined?!?!

I will be honest and say it took me about a month to get over the anger. I was angry that this happened to us. After the anger came the grief. I cried a lot about not having a growing baby belly. Especially when I read/heard people complaining about their's! Now I'm in a stage of realization. Realizing that I did infact have a miscarriage. I did infact lose a baby.

Our due date was October 19th. That day is approaching soon. I don't want to make a huge deal about that day, but we are going to remember it. Will it be an emotional day? I'm sure. But I know it will help.

Random & A Recipe

Just wanted to share some funny things Kaidence has been doing/saying lately.

-We're working on spelling her name. I sing this made up song, and she does good at saying the next letter. Also thanks to 'The Best of Elmo Vol 1', she knows how many face parts she has and what they do.."I have 2 eyes, so I can see....."

-She gets in trouble a pretty good bit for doing things she knows she shouldn't do. Today she was sneaking out the front door and she looked back and said "Momma - see me?!" It was like she's saying I know I shouldn't do this, but as long as you see me I'll be okay-ha!

-She is still obsessed with her birthday. She will stand by the wall, in the spot she stood when we sang to her at her party, and sing "Happy Toooo Meeeee"! It's precious! She also asks for a cupcake after she sings. She gets disappoint when there's none ;)

And, now for a recipe.

I really wanted chicken spaghetti tonight, so I googled a ton of recipes and I didn't like any of them 100% so I sort-of made up my own. Here it is..

Ingredients:

3 chicken breasts

12 oz spaghetti noodles

1 onion

1 lb Velveeta(cubed)

2 cans cream of chicken

1 can tomatoes w/green chilies

1 small can mushroom

1 small can black olives

salt & pepper

Directions:

Boil the chicken and chopped onion, remove the chicken and then boil the noodles in the same water.

De-bone and shred the chicken.

Mix the chicken, noodles, cheese, and canned ingredients.

Bake for about 25 minutes on 350*.

Super easy, but super good!

Tonight I served it with green beans, a wedge salad, and rolls.

Seward Farms

This weekend we took a trip to a local farm.
It was Kaidence's 3 year going to a "pumpkin patch", but this is the first year she has really got to play and experience it. I'd have to say it was a big hit! We stayed there for about 2 hours-and she was in heaven!

K went solo. It looked like it hurt, but she jumped up and ran back up the steps to go again!

We also watched duck and pig races, and did an extremely long corn maze. I think we may have to make one more trip again this year since she enjoyed it so much!

Kaidence is growing super fast. Her vocab is growing daily, and she's almost 100% ready to PT.
Josh is anti-"girl salads". He is not a fan of a lot of mayo! This week I was tweeting about pimento cheese & someone mentioned pimento cheese with avacado-YUM! I made a quick grocery trip and made the.best. pimento cheese sandwich EVER! Complete with avacado and bacon.

I'm so glad Fall is here. I'm planning to wear boots & a scarf this weekend to celebrate.
We're going to rearrange K's playroom. It needs it in a bad way!! I'm also going to whip up some fun wall projects with my Cricut machine. I'm way too excited about this project-ha!

The day before Kaidence's party she got diagnosed with a nasty bug, so we had to cancel her party at the park and all her little friends just to be safe. :(
Luckily, our family still came down and we had a great time.

I had a lot of Sesame Street stuff, and since we had to down-size the space everything was a little cramped. I think it still turned out okay & most important thing-Kaidence had a good time!

Kaidence, you are TWO YEARS OLD!

Mornings: You wake up anywhere between 7:30-9:00. You always wake up saying "EAT!", so we quickly get up and fix your breakfast.

Bedtime: Last week was not a good week during bedtime. You didn't want to go to bed, and it would take us over an hour to put you down-which is SO unusual! When we were out of town you slept in a pack&play, and now you want to sleep in yours here. We pick our battles wisely, so you've been sleeping in a pack&play. You usually go to bed around 8:00.

Food: You love it! The only thing you're not too sure about is squishy stuff {cooked squash is the main thing}. Your favorites are pizza, rice, shrimp, olives, and you have a new love for pickles.

Developmental: You are quite the little talker, and you love to repeat still. You have learned some songs and it's precious to hear you singing in the backseat.

Favorite Toys: Elmo, baby dolls & accessories, & puzzles.

Sizes: 2t in clothes, 4 or 5 diapers, & 6.5 or 7 shoe.

You are very social and love to play.

Well Check Up

This morning Kaidence had her 2 year appointment.

Of course, she had to bring Elmo in for his check up too ;)

She even showed him the turtles.

Dr. Cepeda said she was right on track developmentally and the next thing to work on is ........ potty training.

She is showing some signs, but she doesn't recognize she has to go until she has already gone.

I'm going to stay positive and get plenty of fun rewards!

Stats:

Weight - 30.6 pounds

Height - 33 3/4 inches

Head Circumference - 51 1/4 cm

She is staying on the same growing curve, except her head. It's still really off the charts.

The only issue this could be is that her brain is growing too fast as well. He isn't too concerned because she is on track developmentally.

And, just for fun I calculated how tall K should be as an adult.

She should be around 5'6''.

Kaidence is TWO!

It's hard to think that my baby is two. It seems like just yesterday she was an itty-bitty squishy baby.

But, today was a day to celebrate, and that's what we did!
We started off the day with pancakes, eggs, & Sesame Street on the Today show.

Once Kaidence got a quick bath we both got ready and took Kaidence to get her first hair cut.

She was such a big girl & did so good!

When she finish her haircut we went to The Watermelon Patch so she could play.

We got back home and played until Daddy got home.

Then we took some two year pictures.

During our pictures Mr. UPS man came & brought Kaidence her first gift of the day.

Weekend on the Lake

We got to Clanton late Thursday night, so we didn't do much but sleep.

Friday morning Josh got up early to go fishing. Not too long after he left some little girl woke up wanting "JOSH", so we walked down to the pier so she could fish.

She wasn't too sure about fishing at first, but it didn't take her long to warm up..which made her daddy's day!

After everyone got up and ate breakfast we decided to take the boat out. The kids wasn't too sure about tubing, so we pulled "Barbara" at first to show them.

...As you can tell Barbara was a fan-ha!

Kaidence was the first to try out the tube.

While she was riding, Gage helped me drive the boat

We finally talked Kaidence into getting off so that Gage could ride

While he rode, Kaidence decided to play Daddy.

I think it's safe to say both of these little cuties had an absolute blast!

Last Weekend With Our 1 Year Old

It's our last weekend with K being a 1 year old :(
We aren't being sad though-we're celebrating! We left last night heading to the Lake to spend the weekend with the Paseurs & Josh's Aunt Brenda.
Kaidence hasn't been on a boat since last June when she was just a little bald-headed baby. {last lake trip}
I'm sure she & Gage will have an absolute blast! I'll be sure to update Monday.

Also next week is going to be Birthday Palooza! Kaidence will be TWO on Tuesday! So-get ready for a week of Birthday posts!

Fall Shows

I must admit, we are total tv addicts. Our DVR is constantly recording something. Another reason for that is because when Kaidence is awake we're watching her shows instead of our boring stuff-ha!

Here is a list of some new shows coming on this Fall and some of our old favorites.

The Sing-off was really good last season, I'm hoping it is just as good this time.

The Biggest Loser is an old favorite. I love it, Josh hates it. I personally would hate to train with Jillian & Josh said it looks like she would have bad breath?!-haha!

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is another oldie, but goodie. We watch this with a box of tissue because we both cry like school girls.

Up All Night is a new show coming to NBC. It looks funny, and I can't wait to watch!

We love cooking shows, some of our from The Food Network are

Cupcake Wars...because who doesn't love cupcakes?

And, The Sandwich King. His show is new, but I love the idea of making "every meal a sandwich & every sandwich a meal"

We watch several more shows, like I said our DVR light is almost always on. The last spotlight is my guilty pleasure ................

This show is such a train wreck, but I cannot stop watching! I told Josh it makes me feel like mom of the year compared to some of those cray-cray mommas!

Josh has been working 6-4:30 this week and it has been great. He gets off in time to play with Kaidence outside while I cook dinner. I could totally get use to it!

We are pretty sure you're going to be left-handed because you do everything with your left hand.

Day in the Life Series/Thursday

I decided to do a fun little series to document our life.

Some of my favorite bloggers {Kelly, Jillian, & Jennifer} have recently done it, so I'm jumping on board!

My day started off at 5:30 when Josh's alarm went off. I got up with him to fix his coffee & breakfast and to pack his lunch for the day. He left around 6:30 and I got back in bed!

I got back up at 9:00, and Kaidence was still sleeping. I decided to go ahead and fix our breakfast before she was there to "help".

Kaidence finally got up at 9:30! I changed her diaper and she insisted I put a bow in her hair.

We both ate breakfast - she had eggs & milk and I had oatmeal.

After breakfast, Kaidence started asking for "ELNO", so I put on Sesame Street for her while I put dinner in the crock pot.

Sesame Street didn't occupy her long, so we played in her room.

She is obsessed with dressing up right now, so she loved playing in her Halloween costume from last year.

While she played, I worked on organizing her bows some. This is only the everyday bows! Her holiday bows & flowers are on another holder. The girl loves some bows-ha! ;)

She randomly decided to wear panties, so I went with it. After she got semi-dressed she said it was "nap time" and she put this portable changing pad down to nap on.

After she played, she wanted to watch Dora. Dora wasn't on TV, so we had to resort to netflix. She thinks she is SO big sitting at my computer watching her shows!

While she did that, I did a load of laundry.

At 12:00 we had lunch. Nothing special, just leftovers.

Kaidence went down for a nap at 12:30, and I took advantage of the time and showered.

Josh got rained-out at work around 1:00(BOO!) and then Kaidence woke up at 1:30.

(She always strips down during her nap!!)

After Kaidence got up from her nap, we just lounged around the house. We decided to go get Snow Cones, but when we got there they were closed! :(

We came back at I started dinner around 5. I cooked over-stuffed BBQ baked potatoes & baked beans.

Josh left for band practice at 6, so we have just been hanging around playing.

22 Months Old

I say this in every post, and will probably continue to say it every MonthDay & Birthday!

My girl is growing up way too fast!!!!

You weigh 29 lbs, 6 oz
{As of Thursday July 21 when you went to Dr E}

You are obsessed with "boog-ahs!" It's a little nasty, but you want to make sure you don't have any extra little friends! ;)
You love to talk! You're getting much better with your speach, but sometimes you still ramble off in your own language!
You favorite word is "AINTS"! You see a bug and you yell "AINTS!" You sound like a country hick, but it's too cute!

You are equally a girly-girl and a tom-boy! You love to put on make up, bows, and jewelry..but, you don't mind playing in the mud or with choo-choos {Which is what you call any type of vehicle!}

You're still in love with "El-no", and you have started requesting "Boop-Boops"{Veggie Tales. She calls it that because of the song} and "Do-Do" {Dora.}

You aren't potty trained, but have a sick obsession with saying "Pee Pee" and "Poo Poo".

You even call meats and refried beans "poo poo", but that doesn't stop you from eating it-sick!

You love to say your prayers. Before every meal & bedtime you put your little hand over your mouth, mumble some things, and then shout "AMEN!"

You still cry in the church nursery, but it's only until you see a little friend for you to play with! And, your always playing when we go check on you.

You have seen your Daddy drum so much that you have picked it up! We tell you to play the drums & you beat on whatever is near you.

You love to help with anything we do.

If we're cooking, you have to be on the counter helping..If we're doing laundry, you're pulling stuff out of the dryer..If we're doing dishes, you're loading your toys into the dishwasher.

I'm praying this stays around for many, many years! ha!

Anniversary Celebration

On Tuesday Josh & I headed to Destin to have a little getaway for our anniversary.

We started out the day with lunch at a new restaurant, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company.

It was delicious!

Josh even got to pretend to be Forrest!

After lunch we went to Destin Commons to do some window shopping and to the theater.

We saw Horrible Bosses. It was funny, but had a lot of wordy-dirty's!

When the movie was over we did some shopping and then headed to the hotel to get ready for dinner.

We decided to try out Fisherman's Wharf.

The wait time was long, but it was okay since we didn't have an inpatient 22 month old with us-ha! ;)

3 Year Anniversary

Gulf Shores

We decided to take another spur of the moment beach trip Wednesday.

Wendy & Savannah were still with us, so we met my mom, Amy & Brayson in Gulf Shores.

The temperature was great, the beach wasn't too crowded, the only downfall was the purple flag because of jelly fish! :(

Kaidence & Savannah did go out a little ways, but not too deep!

Kaidence has always loved the sand at the beach!

This time she let us cover her "kicks" in sand, which she thought was so cool.

Brayson stayed in the shade on the pier most of the time. I did have to get a picture of his first time at the beach, though.

Fun Weekend

Desperate

Y'all, I am in total party planning mode!

With less than 3 months to go, I'm starting to freak out.

I have most everything figured out...almost.

I would really like Elmo to make an appearance at K's birthday.

And, I know she would love it!!

In our hometown, you can rent the characters. I tried to get them to do it but we're too far now! :(
I contacted a local rental and they want a boat load of money for 15 minutes.. NOT HAPPENING!
I found this Elmo costume on e-bay, and it costs the same to buy it as it would to rent it from the local company.

However, it's still a lot of money.

And? I'm trying not to blow the bank on this party!

Second dilemma...

I found some super cute Sesame Street cups on etsy, they just cost another boat load of money.

I set out to find red sippy cups with a lid and straw, that was a lot harder than I ever imagined.

Thanks to handy-dandy google & e-bay I found these babies and they shipped today!
{20 cups for cheaper than I could buy 5 on etsy!!!!}

The dilemma?
I really, really want to put Elmo's face on the cup.

I have a Sesame Street cricut cartridge, but it doesn't have just his face.

Here's where I need y'all...

I need information on any type of Elmo costume rental.

Or, if you know of a cheaper place to buy the costume.

Next thing, I need somebody with Sure Cuts A Lot to help me with Elmo's face outline. I can do the nose & mouth, but I cannot get the eyes to look right!
(I can send you a picture of what I'm talking about..I just don't want to put the picture on my blog of the cups since I didn't purchase them)

21 Months

Kaidence, you are 21 months old
{as of June 20th!!!}

You weigh around 29-30 pounds.

You wear a combination of 24 months & 2t clothes.

You wear a size 5 diaper.

You wear a size 6 or 7 shoe.
You're eye teeth finally came through, so you now have 16 teeth.

You started sleeping in your toddler bed this month!
You're such a big girl, and sleep all through the night in it.

Naps were a little off at first, but you have started taking those in your big girl bed as well.

You love to talk!
Sometimes you make up words, but you're getting a lot better about saying real words.

You love to repeat stuff we say, and you've started putting 2 & 3 words together.

You have also started calling your Daddy "Josh"! You did this with me, but you would still say Momma. Not this time! When we say Daddy you correct us and say JOSH!

You are still obsessed with Elmo!
You watch it every morning when you have breakfast because you usually wake up asking for "ELNO"

You love to dance. In the afternoons when Daddy gets home you come into the kitchen with us and grab our hands to dance. It's so precious!

You also love to "wite". If you see a piece of paper or anything you could write with you start insisting you "wite"

You call any type of vehicle a "choo-choo".

You love the water!!! You would take a bath or swim 24/7 if we would let you!
And, you're quite the dare devil in the pool.

You are so good about remembering names.

You have two little boy friends named Tripp & Gage and every boy we see is "Chip" or "Cage"

You are saying most all of our family members names. You call Grammie "Nammie" and you can say Heather, you are just stubborn and say Baby because you know she's Brayson's Mommy.

I cannot believe that you will be 2 in only 3 short months!!!
You are growing up way too fast! :(
I love watching you grow and learn, but I miss having a squishy baby sometimes.

I'm behind, so I'm just going to do one post with basically the last week!

Wednesday-

Kaidence had her 2nd dentist appointment. She did so much better than lasts time, and she's still cavity free-woohoo!

She got a sticker for being a big girl & she stuck it on her cheek.

After her appointment we went to Old Navy to find me a dress, but ended up getting her a cute outfit instead. Then we went to Chick-Fil-A for her to play & burn some energy!

That afternoon Aunt Amy came to our house to spend a few days with us.

Thursday-

We went to Mobile to shop and have lunch.

After shopping we went to Cold Snap for some yogurt.

Kaidence got a sticker & guess where she put it..

When Josh got home we went to Mexican and he had to pick up his tuxedo.

I took a picture of K with the flash on & she kept saying "EYES!" I guess it was a little too bright for her.

Friday-

Amy took Kaidence back home with her for the weekend, so Josh took me out for my birthday lunch.

That night we went to Mason & Mary-Beth's rehearsal dinner.

Saturday-

We lazied around most of the morning, and that afternoon we went to the wedding.

It was gorgeous & the reception was a blast!

Sunday-

We went to Evergreen to celebrate Father's Day with Josh's dad, and to pick up Kaidence!
I seriously didn't take any pictures.

Monday-

My Birthday!!! We spent the day at the house until Josh got home, then we had an ice cream date outside and watched a movie.

Kaidence also turned 21 months! I'll do her pictures & post tomorrow! :)

Busy Weekend.

Friday

Josh was off work so we had family time after dentist & new tire time.

We went to The Watermelon Patch. It's a local play place and Kaidence had a blast!

{This puppet reminded us of Guy Fieri. hahah!}

After we played we had an awesome lunch, then headed home. Josh had to play at an all boy Royal Ranger's camp this weekend so us girls had a movie night.

Kaidence loved sitting around in her Elmo pajamas watching Tangled!

Saturday

We got up, straightened the house some, and waited on our guests. Kaidence's Paw-Paw, Grammie, & Uncle Aaron came down for a visit!

We went shopping and out to eat at Outback. I took my camera, but took zero pictures! :( You should thank me, though, because Kaidence was being a hot mess since she didn't have a nap!

Sunday

Josh came home and we went to Fairhope to the "beach"/park.

Then more shopping and ended the night with dinner at O'Charley's.

Scattered Thoughts. .

This is just going to be random points because we haven't done much lately, but I did want to document a few things!

*All of these pictures are from our pool day Tuesday.

*Kaidence slept in her big girl bed for the first time last night! She did great and didn't get up until around 9!

*Since she's sleeping in her toddler bed, I want to get her big girl room done.

*Josh has a boy's only camp he is playing at this weekend, so this would be the perfect weekend to do it. Only problem? Painting with a "helper"

*It's only a little over 3 months until her birthday and I have nothing major done! I should probably start on that soon!

*I'm on the hunt for a cute camera strap cover. I want something with ruffles and a lens cap holder. Any recommendations?

*Awhile back I got a groupon deal for spray tans. 2 for $19-heeyyy! I'm getting the first one next week and I'm excited that I won't be glowing in the dark from my whiteness anymore!

*I'm excited that Father's day & my birthday are only a day apart. We can celebrate with one dinner which is fabulous since K is not the best diner-outer!

She's not afraid of water, the dark, animals, most things that she should be.
That's good and bad!

Memorial Day weekend her Paw-Paw & Grammie rented this water slide and she had an absolute blast!

We have season passes to Big Kahunas,

and I think with our little water lover they will be put to good use!

Summer Blog Swap Goodies!

For this Summer blog swap I was paired with Miss Melanie.

I didn't read her blog before, but I definitely do now!

She has a great taste in books and the cutest little dog, ever.

I got my package Tuesday, and couldn't wait to see what was inside!

She did great!!

I love candles, and this one is in a super cute jar which makes it even better!

Since we only live 30 minutes from the beach.. I, of course, love cute beach towels.

And, the garden flag? Perfect for Summer! Also perfect because we've had the same flag on our's for over 2 years -OOPS!

She was also thoughtful and included Kaidence a little something.

I finally opened it for her and she was thrilled! She called it a choo-choo-ha!

*We went back home this weekend. I have a ton of pictures, but haven't had time to upload/edit them.

*It's officially Summer time in my book! We're celebrating with grilling out as much as possible. And, tonight we're even mowing..grilling & mowing are two of my faves-ha!

*For the first time in a long time Kaidence didn't throw a fit in the grocery store. That's a huge victory!

*Josh has two shows this weekend at the Spanish church ... that should be interesting.

*I cannot wait to do fun Summer activities with K. Now that she's older I think she will like the zoo and water park a lot more.

*Josh already has one of his Father's Day gifts. We got him a 6 hour fishing charter, and he's a happy man!

*Speaking of Father's Day, that weekend is going to be jam packed! Friday night we have a wedding rehearsal, wedding Saturday, Father's Day Sunday, and my birthday Monday. SHOO!

*I bought Something Borrowed Monday and have yet to start it :( I'm hoping tomorrow K will want to swim so that I can read.

*And, since my mind is on Birthday & books, I am really wanting a Nook or Kindle. I can't decide which is better..and they're the same price. I do like the Nook Color because K can play games on it when we travel, and I can read magazines..

*Kaidence has to go see her Pediatrician later in the month to get her head remeasured. More than likely she will have some tests/scans just to make 100% sure everything is okay. We're believing everything is good and that she just has a lot of Smart up there ;)

*Josh had a guys weekend this past weekend, so me & the wild woman stayed at my mom's. Sunday we went to church & she stayed in the children's church with the big kids & her Aunt Amy.

Thursday I took K to her pediatrician to make sure her ear infection was gone. While we were waiting on the Dr. she decided to read an Elmo book to her new Elmo backpack!

Friday I had to go grocery shopping & Josh was working.so, I broke out the bribes-ha! She had animal crackers, a bottle of water, and these stickers. She loves making people laugh and so she was in Heaven when people was stopping us to see her stickers.

And, during our WalMart trip Friday I picked up this $10 pool, and it's been a hit! We spend 2 hours outside yesterday and hour already this morning. $10 well spent!

During K's pool time I've been reading "Water for Elephants" I started yesterday afternoon and I'm already half-way done! I need some other books to read when I finish.

Any recommendations?

20 Months

Kaidence, today you are 20 months old!
That's only 4 months until you are 2!!! :(

And, that makes me a little sad!

You are growing up so fast, and while I do wish you would stay a baby, I love seeing you grow and learn.

You are saying more words everyday and can identify every body part on your, or anybody who's willing to let you poke their "EYESSS"-ha!

You love "Elno" and that's what your 2nd Birthday is going to be - Sesame Street!

{funny story, when you say "el-no" it sort of sounds like you're saying "h3ll no".oops!}

You love to entertain! Just today you were putting on a show for some girls in Best Buy.

You weigh 29.5 pounds, we found that out because you had a horrible ear infection this month.

Thankfully, as of today, no more ear infections!:)

Also today was the first time in for-ev-er you didn't act like a wild banshee in the Dr.'s office.

Praise Him! We are making progress

What I'm Loving Wednesday {2}

1 - I'm loving that it's already Wednesday! This week seems to be flying by & I'm perfectly okay with that!

3 - I'm loving we were able to go back home this weekend, and that I was able to get some good pictures of Brayson!

I'm loving that Josh is finally off night shift! It's great to function like a "normal" again.

Sunday morning around 3:45 my mom called to tell me my sister Heather was in labor and on her way to the hospital.

I don't remember the exact times after that, but I do remember he was here at 7:31!

He is her first baby, and she had him that fast!
I'm jealous-ha!:)

He is so tiny & precious.

Stats:

5 pounds, 2 ounces

19.5 inches long

And, Kaidence seemed to like him. Whenever he cried she was a little freaked out at first. But, once she realized he was okay she kept wanting to feed him his "bockle" and kisses!

Weekend of the Parks

Yes, I realize it's Thursday and I'm just now blogging about our weekend-ha! So what ;)

This {past} weekend was beautiful, and we took full advantage of the sunshine.

Friday, we took a family trip to the park.

Kaidence loves this little bouncy alligator.

And, I guess her Daddy does, too!

While we were there K made a new friend.

She kept saying "Scurl" every time she saw it's little face peep around the tree branches.

Saturday morning we got up super early-I'm talking 6a.m.-and headed to spend the morning at the beach.

I should have a lot of cute pictures of K in her little pincher's swimsuit, but I forgot my camera-boo! So, all I have to show for our fabulous trip is one cell phone picture.
After the beach I called K's Nana & Aunt Amy and they decided to come down for a little visit.

Josh went to work that night, and us girls went to Cracker Barrel for dinner, and then made a trip to Target!

Sunday we all went to the park in Fairhope.

But, before we left I had to get a picture of K's big girl pig-tails..just because!

After we fed the birds, we took a few pictures.

Of course, while we were there, K fed/chased/annoyed the ducks

And, even played some peek-a-boo.

Easter Sunday

While we were asleep Saturday night the Bunny made his stop with a basket full of goodies for Kaidence!

Her face was glowing with deight when she first saw her basket!

She investigated each thing very carefully, just to make sure Bunny didn't let her down.

We went to our normal church for 8:30 service, and then we headed into Mobile to another church's 10:30 service that Josh was playing at.

After service they had an Easter egg hunt, and Kaidence got to find a few eggs.

While we were standing around talking, Kaidence and her little buddy Hunter found some opened jelly beans and helped themselves to them.
They were both covered in orange/yellow/pink!
I was freaking out too much to take a picture-ha!

We left church and headed to the Clement's house for Easter lunch and another egg hunt.

(Luckily, this momma planned ahead and had another outfit, too!)

Kaidence woke up super early, ate way too much candy, and didn't nap.

And, by the end of the day this was how she was feeling.

(her parents were too-ha!)

Easter Weekend 2011

Thursday:

Josh's band had a show on the beach in Gulf Shores.

It was at sunset, and so pretty outside!

Friday:

Daddy & KK had a daddy/daughter swimming date while I made cake pops in peace.

We had a Crawfish Boil/Play Date at our house that night.

All together there was 13 adults and 9 kids. All the kids came in their cute clothes, but within 5 minutes had some form of food/candy on their clothes or face-OOPS!

The kids had a blast hunting eggs, and playing with Benny the Bunny!

Saturday:
Josh went fishing with Jeremy, so Amy & I took the girls to the Egg Drop at the USS Alabama.

I think everybody in our county had the same idea-ha!

They dropped 100,000 eggs from helicopters, which was really neat.

While everybody raced to get an egg me and Kaidence just sat back and watched everyone.

After the Egg Drop, we went to Bass Pro to see the bunny.
Gracie took a picture with him, but Kaidence was a mess from all the candy so she didn't do one this year.

(And, because I wasn't sure how she would act around him since she didn't like Santa this year)

We came home so K could get a nap and come down off her sugar high.
Then,we went got dressed to go with Josh to band practice, went out to eat, and then came home for an early bedtime to get ready for our big Easter Sunday!
