Dr. Sears Nibble Tray Review

Kaidence is a very well for an 8th month old!
She snacks a lot throughout the day, at first that had me a little worried because it seemed like she was always eating. I found the zak website and saw that Dr. Sears recommends babies 'grazing' throughout the day.
That made me feel much better because he is actually a Pediatrician, father of 8, and author of over 40 books on childcare. I'm pretty sure he knows his stuff!
According to Dr. Sears "Raise a Grazer!" Children should graze on frequent meals throughout the day. Let them nibble, dip, and graze their way through mini-meals all day long.
Grazing is good for the brain. Eating small, frequent mini-meals throughout the day provides a slow and steady supply of fuel for the brain.
Grazing is good for the tummy. Grazers suffer less from reflux because smaller meals pass more quickly through the stomach, and are easier to digest.
Grazing is good for weight control. Grazing helps with weigh control by raising your child's metabolism and, therefore, burning more calories.

I think all of those things are great, and made me feel a lot better about K snacking throughout the day.
The only problem, I had multiple snack containers in her diaper bag.
Moms know, the diaper bag is full enough with the necessities. So, when you add 3-5 snack containers it is impossible to carry a small bag!
On the zak website, I found the Nibble Tray. It was perfect!
I fill up Kaidence's tray in the mornings before breakfast.
She usually eats oatmeal & yogurt, then I let her 'graze' on the tray if she's still hungry.
Between breakfast & lunch she usually has a snack.
She eats her lunch, has a snack before dinner and then her dinner.
 Usually by the end of the day she has most of it eaten!
That's okay though, because I fill it with healthy snacks!
On this day, she had cantaloupe, peach yogurt, and mandarin oranges in the detachable "leaf".
In the rest of the container she had shredded cheese, ham, turkey, chicken, berry yogurt melts, Cheerios, goldfish, watermelon, raisins, broccoli, cauliflower, and cucumbers.
I love the tray because all of her snacks fit in there, perfectly!
It's wonderful not having to empty out her diaper bag just to try to get to one container of snacks.
Another great thing, the top detaches.So, when she doesn't finish her yogurt I can put it in the refrigerator to keep cool.
And, it is dishwasher safe! Around here, Josh & I both do the dishes, so it's aggravating having to remember what we can and can't put in the dishwasher. We have actually ruined a few sippy cups because we forgot if it was dishwasher safe!
Kaidence really enjoys the Nibble Tray, too.
 She loves being able to feed herself, and, of course, she loves to make a mess!

You can find the Dr Sears Nibble Tray and other zak products at Target, Amazon, The Soft Landing, La Prima Baby, and Buy Buy Baby.

Thankful Thursday

Yes, I am thankful for her everyday, but today she has been the sweetest little lump of love! :)
She has boycotted her morning naps, so we played in the living room floor instead.
She is ::this:: close to real crawling! I'm excited :)
Also, she has a new BFF ... the vacuum!
She loves it! She squeals and tries to "catch" the light. It's adorable!

{don't know why the picture is so off color! Sorry!}

Kaidence's 1st BDAY Party Ideas

Ok, I do realize K's BDAY isn't until September. I just want to have a 100% game plan-HA!
I haven't purchased anything yet, just been getting lots & lots of ideas.
We are doing zebra print & hot pink!
I plan to make what I can myself to save money!
I love this! I plan to make the Happy Birthday banner myself & have it behind her cake/food table. I am making the hats from other "whatever" hats. Like How Does She posted a tutorial for.
I am getting cupcake toppers along with some fun zebra print trays from http://www.michaelandshaepage.blogspot.com/
How cute is that invitation & water bottle label?
I think I might have to call on K's Aunt Amy to help with those ;) HA!

Another idea for her invitation.
I love, love, love that sign for the front door. Except minus the cupcake!

I think Kaidence needs that snazzy little hat to wear for her BIG DAY! :)

And, I'm going to make 2 lollipop trees for the gift table!
And, I'm going to make this cute cupcake stand!

I plan to make her a '1' shaped smash cake.
And, of course, I'm going to have zebra print, black, white, and pink pom-poms!

Yeah, if you couldn't tell I'm pretty excited! :)

And, because I know grandparents are just looking at this for a picture...

It's not the greatest because it was taken on Josh's cellphone.

The Juppy Baby Walker Review AND Giveaway {06/16/2010 US & Canada}

The Juppy is a new revolutionary walking aid.
Since The American Academy of Pediatrics has called for a ban of baby walkers with wheels, this is a safe way to help teach your little one how to walk!
What I love about The Juppy:
It is lightweight and very compact. It's about the size of her travel case of wipes, so it fits easily into her diaper bag!
It has adjustable straps, which is good because both Josh & I use it and we can adjust it to our needs.
It's unisex! And, can be monogrammed
It is machine washable, and if you have a baby you know how important that is!
It is very affordable-$19.95!
It is safer than wheeled walkers! The American Academy of Pediatrics has actually called for a ban of baby walkers with wheels.
You don't have to bend over to hold her arms to walk. That's two bonuses; I don't feel like my back is going to break because she is heavy and I don't feel like I'm going to hurt her little shoulders.
And, it's Doctor recommended!

It did take Kaidence a little time to adjust to The Juppy, but once she got the hang of it she LOVED it! I find it much easier for Kaidence to walk, because her arms are by herside therefore she is able to balance herself. When she used the wheeled baby walkers, if anyone tried to move her it would cause her feet and legs to bend and drag. With The Juppy, you can just lift her up if she needs to be moved - I like that! I want Little Miss to be safe, and The Juppy seems to be much safer than any other form of learning to walk!

Funny Video of Kaidence...

"

Weekend with Old Friends.

Friday - Josh was off work, so we stayed home and cleaned,cleaned,cleaned! We got all the rooms "spring cleaned" and sold some stuff on Craig's List! Also, Kaidence got a few drum lessons from her daddy ;)
Saturday - We left early heading to Evergreen. We went to Josh's parents when we first got into town. Then, we met my BFF Lindsey to head to Andalusia for lunch at Larry's BBQ! After lunch and WalMart, we went to my cousin Tonya's baby shower! Her little girl, Ansley, is due in July :) Kaidence stayed with my mom and sister so we could go to the theaters. It was a blast! It was me, Josh, Lindsey, Kristle,and her mom Kaye! We watched "Letters to Juliet" it was a really good movie, but I laughed the entire time thanks to Ms Kaye and her commentary-HA! After the movie we went back to WM and then to dinner at Ruby Tuesday's! We didn't get home until 1AM!!! {didn't get any pictures :( I did take this one on Josh's phone...Ms Kaye took her expensive drink from the theaters in RT with her-HA! She is crazy!}
Sunday - we went to church at our old church. Lindsey's daughter Addison was with her dad that weekend,but got to come to church to see us! :) I was so glad! After church we went to Kristle &Kaye's for chicken and then headed back home.
{Kaidence & Addison had on the same style dress from Target! Addison was a little scared of K because she wanted to attack her}
{Very blurry picture..:(}
Monday - Kaidence & I just hung around the house. She is cutting more teeth and she was not a happy camper!
Today - We went to prayer at church this morning, then I worked on some stuff for Youth. Kaidence sported her very first set of pigtails today. These are the Kula Klips I won - and, they are AMAZING! They are lined with plastic/rubber so they stay in her baby fine hair!
Hope y'all are having a wonderful week! I'm going to work on some crafts, cook dinner, and help Josh prepare his lesson for Youth tomorrow night!
