So long, Farewell...

...so glad I don't have to wash you {and your 5 billion parts} again.

Yes, my friends, K is officially off the bottle.
I am so excited!
From the beginning, I have been very nervous about when to take her off her bottle and pacifier. She has done great though. We started yesterday, and she has been bottle free since.
That's a big improvement from 2 weeks ago, when she would only take formula out of her bottle.
I do plan to give her a bottle in the middle of the night when she wakes up for now. {That happens like once a week now!}
My original plan was to stop the bottle at 12 months, but thankfully it looks like it's going to only be 10 months! :)
Next thing to remove, the beloved paci! That might be a little bit harder. I don't mind her having a paci past 12 months, but not past 15 months or so.
My plan of attack is to wean her from it starting now. Only a paci during nap time and bedtime...then, slowly work those away. Like I said, it's going to be harder because she loves that thing!

Don't Forget the Lyrics!

So, I'm probably the worst person when it comes to getting lyrics right!
For example:
The old song "Here I am SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED"
I thought it said "Here I am right in the minute"
Josh thought I was crazy! ha!
I have had several, several more since then.
Trust me!

Today, Josh was listening to a Praise & Worship CD for a certain special Band!
{Details to come SOON!!!}
Anyways, the song is called "In Your Presence"
It's a really great song!
One part goes "The kings and they kingdoms are standing amazed"
I was singing along and said "The kings and they kingdoms are standing on eggs!"
Josh nearly died from laughter!
I didn't think it made since, but who was I to judge the man. Ya know?
He made me rewind it and sing it again...
Just for laughs!

Here's the video.
Listen at about 1:38! That's where he talks about the eggs - ha!

Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this.
ha!

Bedtime

Nothing too interesting going on right now.
J is back on night shift, so it's just us 2 girls!

I decided to take some pictures of my sweetie tonight before she went to bed.

Look at her CRAZY hair...
Getting her hair blow dried...

After she got her aquaphor and baby lotion on, she decided to be mischievous and play on the ottoman...
How grown up does she look with her big girl jammies on?

10 Months Old

K, you turned TEN MONTHS OLD on the 20th!
What are you up to these days?
You weigh around 22-23 pounds
You wear a size 4 diaper
You wear mostly 12 months, and some 18 months clothes.

  • You love to eat! You eat mostly table foods at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You do still have some baby foods though
  • You still take 6 ounces of formula at least 6 times per day!
  • You are still working on the sippy cup. You will drink juice or water from it, just not milk!
  • You are still a good sleeper when you are at home! Usually 7 - 8.
  • You still take a morning and afternoon nap.
  • You love to "cat nap" now too!
  • You have such a bright, cheerful personality!
  • You are very, very vocal.
  • You say "da-da" a lot. You have said "ma-ma" and "ba-ba" before, but not as much!
  • You wave "Hi" & "Bye" on demand now.
  • You love, love, love to dance! We named your correctly - that's for sure. You have already shown us you have lots of rhythm!
  • You love to be outside.
  • You are a very fast crawler
  • You walk holding on to the furniture, and have stood on your own a few times!
  • You have 7 teeth! 4 on top, 3 on bottom!
  • You started "Praising the Lord" during praise & worship this month! I think it's the cutest, sweetest thing :)
  • You are such a Daddy's Girl. I love it and hate it -ha!

  • You love playing with dolls/animals now! You squeeze them really tight and make a 'mmmmm' sound!
  • You love to give big, wet, slobbery kisses, too!

I honestly can't believe in less than 2 months you are going to be a ONE YEAR OLD!
I am excited/anxious/nervous/sad/happy!

We love you,
KK!

Gym Rat!

Today, K had her first trip to The Little Gym.
She loved it!
Before we went, she had the breakfast of champions ... eggs!
After song time and parachute time, we got to play on all the stations.
Here she is "hanging"
Next she decided to practice her balancing on the beams
She loved hanging out in the "doughnut"
At the end of class, she got to play with balls and then her favorite part - bubbles!
Here she is with Little Avery looking at the bubbles
Since she completed her class, she got stamps.
{see it on her foot}

Here's a little video of K & Wendy working on her front flips!

First Trip to Nana's

Today, my sweet Little Miss went home with her Nana and Aunt Amy for the first time.
I wasn't going to let her spend the night away from home until she was 30-ha!
But, I figure she will be in good hands.
She had her little backpack and Doggie!
And, she was ready to GO!

I will be going up tomorrow afternoon to get her, though.
It's too quiet around here!

Sick Girl!

I know I posted about the "fun things" from this weekend...
but, I thought I would post about the other side too.

Friday -
Lindsey & I went to 6 Flags over Georgia while her mom kept the girls.
When we got home she felt warmed, so I checked her temp it was around 100. I gave her some Tylenol and thought it might be because she is cutting more teeth.
We went to Wal-Mart, and when we got back she was burning up again. She had a 101 temp then.
I gave her more medicine, and we went to bed.
She wouldn't sleep without laying on my chest and that is very unusual for K!

Saturday -
We woke up and it was 102.9!
That seemed a little high, but I gave her Motrin and within 15 minutes it was gone!
We did the party, and by the end she was I-L-L!!!
She had about a 100 temperature when we left.
She was fine when we got to my mom's, so we went to visit Ansley!
We went to dinner afterwards, and all seemed well!

Sunday -
My mom came in the room where K & I were to get her up, and she was BURNING UP!!!
We checked her temperature, and I stopped it at 104.4 because I knew something was NOT right!!!
We called the ER, and the on call pediatrician called us back and said go ahead and bring her in.
We checked in, they took her temperature and it was still 102!
The "doctor" came in and saw her pulling on her ears. He looked in them & said she had an ear infection.
He gave her a shot of antibiotics, a prescription for another antibiotic, and told us to give her Tylenol and Motrin for fever.
We left the ER and went to get her antibiotic filled. It had been about 3-4 hours by the time we left.
We got in the car and she started throwing up ... EVERYWHERE!!!
I freaked & called the ER again and they said to bring her back.
We got there and her temperature was back up to 104!!!
The nurses were very kind and checked her again
Then, the "doctor" came in and rambled something about it being the ear infection and the antibiotic doing it's job.
I didn't feel like it was "just an ear infection" though!
He told us to see her pediatrician Monday AM to "make sure"

Monday -
K ran a fever off & on all morning. Never got above 101 or 102.
At the doctor's office it was 101, so they gave her more Motrin!
Her doctor came in and checked her ears .... NOTHING!!!
She didn't have an ear infection in EITHER EAR!!!
He said her left eardrum was a little swollen, but it was NOT an ear infection!
I was starting to get upset, because my baby is sick and I want to know WHY!
He tried to look in her little mouth, but she ate the stick.
But, from what he did see - he said her throat was very red and swollen.
He asked if they did a culture on her throat. NOPE! Nothing!
He said he was about 100% sure that is what was wrong with K!
He couldn't do a culture because she was already on antibiotics and that it wouldn't work right.

I was pretty upset!
My poor girl has been feeling horrible....and this ER "doctor" assumed just because she was pulling on her ear it was infected!
I even explained to him that her pediatrician knew about her pulling on her ear, and he said it was her way of "coping with pain!"

Tuesday -
She woke up smiling. I checked her temperature after she got up from her nap & it was 97!
She has been eating well again today .. a whole pack of instant grits, peas, corn, tomatoes, and popsicles!
I am hoping she continues to stay well!
Her DR said if she wasn't "back to normal" by Wednesday AM, she had to come in for more testing.
I guess she got the memo & decided she was OVER getting messed with by nurses & doctors!

{these are from my phone..sorry for the quality!}
this was after she was given a shot of antibiotics in the ER!
She kept her little hand on her head alot.
And, this one is just to show off her CURLS!!!

It's a LUAU!

Saturday Addison Lenn{my BFFs daughter} had her 2nd Birthday Party!
It was LUAU themed, and oh so cute!
Her tiki hut cake..
and, her 'smash cake'
Before the party, she had a little photo shoot in her pool.

{as you can probably tell, she is a little sassy thing!:)}
While she had her photo shoot, K napped!
She did wake up in time for some yummy food and watermelon.
And, to take a picture with her BFF! :)
Oh, how I love these two so much!
I hope they grow up to be friends just like their mommies.
And, I had to include this picture of my Little Sassy!

K meets A

Friday July 9th, K got a new baby cousin!
Meet Miss Ansley
Isn't she precious?
She weighed 7 lbs, 7.3 ounces and was 19 1/4 inches long!
That's about the same size K was when she was born..
but, check out the difference in them now
{very blurry -uh!}
There is a 9 month, 18 day difference in them!
The only real difference in the 2, even now, is the hair!
I am beyond jealous- HA!
...

While we were there, we ran into our favorite nurse.
Miss Tracey!
