Hobby Lobby - oh how I love thee!

One of my gifts from my MIL & FIL was a $150 Hobby Lobby gift card!
So, yesterday Kaidence & I headed to Hobby Lobby. We were in there for 2.5 hours - ha!
I spent most all of the money on things to make for Kaidence.. a pink leopard print 'K' bib, a new black headband, a Spring/Summer pillowcase dress, 2 paintings for her room, and I found stuff for her leopard print Christmas tree 1/2 price!!!

this is the bib I'm making for K! I have to hand-stitch around the K, add white terry cloth to the back, add ribbon to tie, and the sew the sides together.

this is her NYE outfit! We are going, as a family, to the Shane & Shane concert.

When we were at Hobby Lobby yesterday, Kaidence picked up two gifts for her & her daddy :)

She got a book "I Love You, Daddy" for him to read to her before bedtime and a plaque that says "I found my Prince ... His name is Daddy"
I wish I could have captured the look on Josh's face when he saw her waiting for him by the back door.
It was priceless!

We also started cereal this week.
We tried before, but she couldn't get the hang of it. Her pediatrician said all babies have a "tongue-thrust" issue and to wait until she was 3 months to try again.

She is doing so much better with it!
She loves it, too. Only problem is we can't get it to her fast enough - ha!

(yes we feed her in just a diaper because she is too messy!)

And, here is two more pictures of her in her bear suit from Nana.
She was too cute, and I think she knew it because she had such a little "attitude"! It was too cute!

And, this is her Elvis lip!
Her cousin Wendy thinks it is just too funny and I was finally able to catch it on camera!

Christmas Day Continued

After we left the nursing home seeing my Granny Hardage, we headed to Grandma Liles' (Josh's Grandma)
We ate lunch there & then exchanged gifts. After that we played "Naughty Santa" ... they love this game! We play Thanksgiving AND Christmas! :)

(Josh's Uncle Jeff holding Kaidence for the first time! He was so excited to finally hold her once he realized he was her Uncle Jeff too!)

We went back to PawPaw & Grammie's and opened gifts there.
We got alot of good things from there, too!

..including a new camera I took those pictures with!:)

Saturday:
We had a lazy day! Josh & I both got our hair cut

(FOR FREE!... it's great to have hairdresser as a MIL!)

This was taken before our 'date'..we planned to eat mexican & go to the theaters. BUT, we ended up eating Arby's and going to Wal-Mart.
ha!
We are officially an "old couple" since we have a DATE to WAL-MART!!
When we got back home Grammie put highlights in my hair, PTL!
I will post pictures of that on my NYE post!

We had a wondreful First Christmas with our sweet Kaidence!
A BIG Thank You to our family and friends for the awesome gifts and for making her first Christmas so wonderful!
We are truly blessed!

Kaidence's First Christmas

So, it has been a while since I had a real post..so, this will be an overload!

Friday (December 18th):
We went to Milton, FL to pick our my cousins Wendy & Savannah to have Christmas with us. Savannah had an ear infection, so just Wendy came. It was SO wonderful having her here because she is such a grea help with Kaidence! What's neat is I was about her age when she was born and I was always staying with her mom, helping take care of her!

Saturday:
We met our Pastor & family (Pastor Ed, Ms Lesia, Le'Anne, & Jimmie) at their house for breakfast and then headed to the flea market. We then went to lunch ... Mexican, of course! After that we were crazy and went to the mall. NEVER AGAIN!!! It was horrible!!! People were running into Kaidence's stroller & just being so rude! UH! So, trust me, we won't be at the mall the weekend before Christmas EVER again!

Sunday:

We went to church and then just had a realizing day watching movies! :)
Monday:

We attempted to clean..but, had a photo shoot with Kaidence instead. That was much more fun!
Also, I won a contest on Fabulous Fun Finds blog & it came in!
(will post blog about the win, later)

Wendy & Kaidence holding our PRIZE! :)

Tuesday:
I, of course, procrastinated on packing again. SO, I had to pack all 3 of our suitcases and straighten the house before heading to Josh's parents. I got it done though!
We went to Evergreen and stayed the night with Grammie & PawPaw(Josh's parents)

PawPaw, Josh, Kaidence, Uncle David, & Grammie
(Josh has 2 brothers, so Kaidence is the only girl..so, you know she isn't spoiled;)..at all!)

Wednesday:
We took Wendy to meet her dad and then headed to Anniston, AL!
In case you don't know, that is a 4 hour drive from Evergreen .. with a 3 month old!

She did very good though!
My best friend, Lindsey, and her family moved up there the end of October.
So, we had to go have Christmas with them:)

Thursday(CHRISTMAS EVE):
We went to IHop for breakfast with everyone before heading to my mom's

(Me, Kaidence, Lindsey, & Addison)
(Addison was born July 8, 2008 so she is about a year older than K..but they are going to be BFF!!)

(How precious is this picture? Addison wasn't too sure about touching K though!)

We got to Nana's(my mom) that afternoon and then headed to my Granny Meredith's for Christmas Eve.
I didn't take any pictures there because I forgot my camera :(
But, I snapped these when we got back to Nana's!

Friday(CHRISTMAS DAY):
We had Santa at Nana's.
Kaidence got so much stuff from us & everybody else!

(Tummy Time pillow from Aunt Amy)

(Rocky Horse from Aunt Heather)

(Clothes from Nana)
She got a LOT more from them, but I haven't taken pictures yet!

After Santa, we went to the nursing home to have Christmas with Granny Hardage.

(She loves being able to hold K! K's her ONLY great grandchild!)

We had 2 more stops, I will post about tomorrow.
I'm going to watch 'Big Daddy' with the Hubster now!:)

Just to hold you over...

I promise we have done lots of things & have tons of cute oufits, but I do not have the time to upload all the pictures & tell all of our exciting stories.
I do have just one picture to hold you all over until after Christmas
(when the hustle is over...hopefully!)

Three Months Old!

...one day late.

Kaidence - You are THREE months old!
What are you up to these days?
  • You weighed 12lbs,12 oz at your 2 month check up - so, your daddy is guessing you weigh around 13-14 pounds now!
  • You are still wearing size 1-2 Pampers
  • You wear mostly 0-3 month clothes, but some 3-6

  • You still LOVE sitting up..so, Mommy & Daddy decided to get you a bumpo for Christmas.
  • You still love your swing! You love to sit in it & watch cartoons in the mornings.
  • You still take about 3-4 ounces, except before bed and you usually try for 5-6 ounces!
  • You are also eating some cereal.

  • You have made a BIG BIG BIG change this weekend
......
  • You started sleeping in YOUR bed! You sleep until around 5:00am, that's when you wake up for a bottle. But, you go right back to sleep in YOUR bed :)
  • You still love bath time.
  • You love to be as close to naked as possible, ALL the time!

  • You still HATE tummy time! But, your Aunt Amy is getting you a 'Tummy Time Pillow' for Christmas..so, we are praying that helps some!
  • You love to smile, flirt, and coo! Daddy says you are going to give him a hard time ;)
  • Your favorite time to coo is in the mornings. You are such a morning person, just like your Daddy!

  • You still don't mind wearing bows! And, that makes Mommy very very excited!!!
  • You have already had a lot of firsts, but this week is going to be even more.
  • Your first LONG car ride (to Anniston), Your first Christmas, and much more!

Your Mommy & Daddy love you very much Sweet Girl!

(Several Christmas outfits & weekend wrapup coming soon!)

A Song to tie you over

I love Natalie Grant, seriously she is my favorite female Christian artist.
This song is so touching :)
Hope you all enjoy it!

*Just some useless information..my best friend sings this song every Christmas at church, this is the first time in 5-6 years we missed it because we moved & they moved.
Also, Natalie Grant grew up Assembly of God..and she did Fine Arts just like Josh & I did with our youth group.

(Will post Kaidence's 3 month information tonight!)

Today's Home Tour

This is something I am NOT thrilled about.
(unlike our Christmas decor)
It is rough around here today...
This are the most used items in our house as of right now:

(&, LOTS of HUGS and CUDDLING)

Yes, our Sweet Baby K is having some sick issues.
She isn't running a fever, but she is very congested with lots of drainage. Which, most of you know, means lots and lots of spit up.
ON TOP OF THAT, she is teething. I noticed she has two large huge knots on her upper gums..but, not in the front. They are where her "eye teeth" would be. Also, you can see her two front teeth shining through her gums.
She is NOT loving cutting teeth..can't say that I blame her. I'm sure swollen, throbbing gums have to irriate her. She is also a SLOBBER-BOX!!! Seriously, so much slobber she is wearing a bib 24/7 so she won't get her outfits soaked & then her freeze to death. NO JOKE - it's bad!

**Anyone have any other suggestions to get ride of this nasty mess, PLEASE let me know**

Christmas Home Tour

WARNING!!!
I have a horrible camera! And, Christmas lights & white ornaments DO NOT photograph well!

WELCOME!

I made this wreath Thanksgiving day @ Josh's Grandma's house with all his aunts..it's a tradition to make a Christmas decoration. I think it's simple, but cute!

This is our Christmas tree. It's more of a family tree because that's what we like!
But, I'm doing a themed tree next year in Kaidence's room.

We put about 1100 lights on here ... wish we had more.
I LOVE lights!
(the wimpy little bow is just not enough for this big tree..but, it works for this year)

Josh's drumset

My snowmanlady

Kaidence's first ornament

Our Family of Three ornament
We started this tradition last year, and I love it!
Josh is always SUPER easy because he has a hobby ... me, on the other hand, just get the typical snowman because I don't want a book or a mommy with spit up ;)
I can't wait to look back in ten years at all our family ornaments.

Our Merry Christmas sign in the window by the tree.

Our simple table decorations because we haven't found anything pre-made we like!

A few kitchen decorations:

More in the living room:

I love having a nativity scene. I want to get a really nice one, but this will do for now!

Our 'EVERYTHING' shelf. I love the J-O-Y stocking holders from Hobby Lobby!

Top shelf.

Hope, Peace, Rejoice candle set on each side of the TV

Top of the tv stand.

Everything is just simple..but, that's us! :)
We plan to RACK UP after Christmas when everything goes on sell, though!
