So long, Farewell...

...so glad I don't have to wash you {and your 5 billion parts} again.

Yes, my friends, K is officially off the bottle.
I am so excited!
From the beginning, I have been very nervous about when to take her off her bottle and pacifier. She has done great though. We started yesterday, and she has been bottle free since.
That's a big improvement from 2 weeks ago, when she would only take formula out of her bottle.
I do plan to give her a bottle in the middle of the night when she wakes up for now. {That happens like once a week now!}
My original plan was to stop the bottle at 12 months, but thankfully it looks like it's going to only be 10 months! :)
Next thing to remove, the beloved paci! That might be a little bit harder. I don't mind her having a paci past 12 months, but not past 15 months or so.
My plan of attack is to wean her from it starting now. Only a paci during nap time and bedtime...then, slowly work those away. Like I said, it's going to be harder because she loves that thing!

Congrats! I felt the same way about Riley's bottle but she did great as well! As for the pacifier, she only has it at naps and bedtime to fall asleep but almost every single time I go to get her it is on the other side of the crib. If that is what it takes for her to fall asleep I am all for it!:) Good luck

Go K!!! Such a big girl!! We STILL struggle with Blake wanting one when he is sleepy....so you are WAY ahead of us!!

Congrats! We gave up the bottle early, too and have never looked back! As soon as Libbi mastered the sippy cup (around 9/10 mos) we stopped using bottles - it is SO SO SO nice to not have to wash those anymore! I am also leery about the whole paci issue...we are starting to move to only naptime and bedtime paci, too, but it is WAY harder for us than the bottle was. It is nice to be able to "conquer" those things, but it also makes me sad too that she's not such a little baby anymore :(

Girl, I'm right there with ya.
I need to get Tucker off the paci too.
I always said I'd take it away at the 1 year mark (that's 1 more month).
I'm going to do the same thing... only during nap and bedtime and gradually take that away.
Hopefully it works for both of us!!!
